BFRB Type Family

In this project, I am trying to explore the relationship between typography and psychological healing. BFRB (Body-focused repetitive behavior) is a psychological disorder that is not well known. Its causes may be related to genetics, trauma, external stress, and many other factors. For this project, I focused on trichotillomania, excoriation and onychophagia, designed three typefaces based on their morphological features, and used the typefaces to create a series of zines, posters and 3D font models to to show the pain experienced by BFRB patients and the process of overcoming the disease.
